Antique Restoration

Restoration work by Imperial Leather Repair

Antique restoration requires particular training and skill, and with my 40+ years of experience and having trained in the company owned by Bargain Hunt’s David Harper, your antiques are in safe hands.

I only use traditional techniques and any colouring needed is mixed by hand to a recipe made to stand the test of time, while still offering sympathetic and quality restoration.

I am more than happy to chat with you about my approach and how I would restore your antiques, so if you’d like to know more and you’re based in the North East, Darlington & Durham simply get in touch.

What I do

As a lover of furniture and restoring people’s prized items to their former glory, I understand that an antique piece of furniture isn’t just about having nice things, it’s about passing on those family heirlooms and the stories those items come with down to a new generation to enjoy and love.

Because of this, I work sympathetically and take pride in all my restoration work, always doing everything to the best of my skill at my dedicated workshop in Darlington.

One of the most common items I get asked to work on is the repairing and recolouring of antique chesterfields.

Using the traditional, quality techniques I was trained with, and the experience I’ve gained over the years, you can be confident that your restoration project will be carried out sympathetically to the original design and based on your requirements, resulting in a fantastic looking heirloom.
